Cafe Society Presents Political Activists and Authors Suzanne Gordon and Steve Early "Local Resistance" Suzanne Gordon is an award-winning journalist and author. She has written for the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and Washington Post. Much of her professional focus has been on healthcare and patient safety. Her most recent book, The Battle for Veterans' Healthcare, examines the problems inherent in the Veterans' Health Administration. Steve Early has has worked as a labor organizer, activist lawyer and union representative for the past forty-five years. He is the author of four books, his most recent being Refinery Town: Big Oil, Big Money, and the Remaking of an American City about his hometown of Richmond. Please note that this event is on a Saturday due to scheduling issues. Most Cafe Society events are on the Fourth Friday.
